Collaborate: Stone Textile + The Distillery Austin

ST+TD_8

Last week we did a little photo collaboration with one of our favorite Austin based online vintage resources, The Distillery.   Catelyn and I thought it would be fun to combine some of their vintage barware with our Stone Textile tabletop accessories.  Make sure to check out The Distillery blog for more photos + the cocktail recipe we tried for the shoot.

The Designer’s Bag / What’s Inside…

work-tote

Yesterday I posted a photo of my new work tote.  I was in the market for something classic and large enough to hold all of my design stuff .  I went with the Zara Leather Shopper in blue (great for Summer)  Below are some of go to items that I always have on hand during the workday.

THE GOODS:

Leather Shopper:  The soft shopper by  ZARA

Fabric + Wallpaper Swatches/Samples:  I always have some kind of swatch in my bag…

Stone Textile Fold Bags:  One for makeup and one for supplies

Gold Tape Measure:  Yes, I just ordered this.  Surprised?

Fabric Scissors:  I still have my Gingher brand shears from college.  The metallic fabric tied around it is from my Senior Collection back in the design school days — hope it stays on there forever!

Magazines:  The latest design mags for inspiration–clients love seeing pretty pictures.

Paint Deck:  I always have my Benjamin Moore desk on hand.

I Pad:  When I present to clients I pull it all up on my iPad / case by Alexander Wang.

Clipboards:  Each project we are working on has it’s own clipboard to keep everything (memos, invoices, fabric samples, design boards) in one place / acrylic clipboard by Russell + Hazel

Sunglasses:  Love the design of these by Warby Parker

Stone Textile At Lawndale / Booth Photos

Lawndale_cover

If you follow along on Instagram you will know that we participated in the Lawndale Design Fair in Houston last week.  It was a whirlwind of a weekend.  My favorite part (besides meeting a ton of design savvy people)  was designing our booth.  I wanted to create a living room vibe that felt inviting and inspiring.  We used the new Deco Stripe Wallpaper on the back wall–we have been receiving a ton of inquiries about the wallpaper.  Please email us at info@stonetextilestudio.com for swatches and pricing.  This will be launching on the site soon!  Here are some of my favorite shots from the weekend…

Our booth–we used vintage chrome chairs from Magpie Fields, I love them paired with our pillows.

I found this brass etagere a few weeks ago — such great lines.  It was so popular that we ended up selling it and not taking it back!

Next month, we are showing at the Lawndale Design Fair in Houston.  I thought it would be fun to use wallpaper (in our new Deco Stripe Print) for our booth.  This is a test run for what we hope will be an expansion of the fabric line.  Stay tuned–Stone Textile wallpaper is on the horizon!  If you cannot wait and have a project that this would be perfect for please email us at info@stonetextilestudio.com.  Have a wonderful weekend!  xx Elizabeth

Stone Textile Styled / The Deco Stripe Pillow

Stone-Textile_Styled

This week I finished up an Edesign project for an amazing client.  We have very similar tastes so designing her Chicago bachelorette pad was really fun.  In her living room design, featured below, I used our new Modern Deco Print Pillow.  See how I have styled it above.

Burl, Brass, Black, Brown…

photo-19

I have always had a thing for mixing black and brown.  It is one of those “rules”  I do not mind breaking in design.  I recently came across these amazing burl wood geometric vintage lamps from the 70′s (above) and seeing the room image above made me pull the trigger.  These will be the perfect finishing detail to our living room.  Will have some custom black shades made and use a brass finial of some sort. Burl, Brass, Black, Brown–repeat!  Here are a few more inspiration photos of this classic yet cool combination…have a great weekend!  xx Elizabeth

New Stone Textile / The Scale Collection

Stone-Textile_Pillows

I am so excited to introduce the new Stone Textile Scale Collection.  This collection was inspired by our trip to the beaches of Thailand.  The hidden shapes textural patterns, and vibrant colors found on the beach were pretty amazing (almost fake looking!).  The new Stone Textile Scale Print, which was inspired by exotic fish scales,  is a personal favorite.  There is a lot of texture going on as well.  We used an amazing studded leather in rich camel brown and jet black and a hand dyed lamb skin, which we are calling Tie Dye Leather.  We have also incorporated two of our signature  “Geometric Styles”  in this collection, The Modern Flap Pillow and the Bandeau Pillow (both with leather trim). I hope you enjoy this new collection as much I do!  All styles are now available + shop-able online…
