Product Spotlight: The Square Layers Pillow

The Square Layers Pillow was designed at the last minute.  It was one of those after thoughts.  I am glad it is part of the collection because it really ties everything together.  Sometimes those game time design decisions (this one was sketched at 2am) turn out to be my favorite pieces.  The editors at Lonny Magazine loved it and decided to feature the floor pillow in their holiday issue.  It was very exciting seeing this design in the magazine only a few days after the website launched!

Stone Textile + Spruce

I am so excited to announce that our Stone Textile prints will now be sold at Spruce Upholstery and Fabric!  Spruce is a modern upholstery shop located in Austin.  I have been bringing clients in for the past year and have never had a bad experience.  The girls are so nice and helpful.  Amanda, the founder, has a monthly column on the very popular blog, Design Sponge .  See her latest “upholstery how to” post here.

It is an honor to have our Stone Textile prints displayed next to other fabric brands we admire so much.

If you live in the Austin area please go say hello to our prints and the Spruce team!  6611 N. Lamar/Austin,TX

Product Spotlight: The Diamond Cut Wood Coasters

The Diamond Cut Wood Coasters were actually the last product designed for Collection No.1 and is now one of our best sellers!  I carried the Stone Textile Diamond Print over to this design thinking that it would be interesting to see the pattern used on two different materials.  It was so exciting to have these coasters featured on one of my favorite design blogs, Coco+Kelley, during the holiday season.  The coasters will be available in a few new shapes over the next few months.  Check back and see!

Product Spotlight: the dip pillow

Every few weeks I am going to feature a Stone Textile product in the new “Product Spotlight” section.   I will tell you a little bit about the design and any stories behind it…

The first product featured, is The Dip Pillow.  I wanted to start off with this design because it was actually the first pillow I designed for Collection No.1.  I am still in getting over that fact that its in a magazine right now…  I knew I wanted my pillows to stick out and be a little different so I decided to create a few dimensional designs in the collection.  This design can be shown with the “dip” part sticking out, as shown below, or with the “dip” part folded on the body of the pillow,  like how it was styled  in House Beautiful.

Shown below in the faded black and white stripe and the cream fishnet cotton.

House Beautiful Magazine

A year ago I went to NYIGF (The New York International Gift Fair) to get a feel for the new market Stone Textile was going to enter.  While walking around I was overwhelmed but, very excited about my new business venture.  I was surrounded by home brands that I have admired for years.  Now, a year later, a Stone Textile pillow is featured in House Beautiful’s “The Best” section alongside some of those same brands I visited at the trade show.  I am so honored and thankful to be a part of this issue!

Stone Textile Launch Party

Last Tuesday night was so special.  I was surrounded by my friends and family and finally got to show them all of the Stone Textile products in person.  We held the party at the James Hotel Chicago (my home town).  Their Club room was the perfect spot.  We set up a living room area, a dining area, and a product area.  Take a look at the photos below to get a better feel for the party.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this night possible and to everyone that stopped by.  It was amazing!

Thank you to Samantha Kaplan Photography for the photos.
