Love This House / The Black Apartment by Romain Richard

Last week I posted the photo above on our Instagram.  You guys seemed to really like it so I wanted to share the whole apartment with you today.  The space is designed by Romain Richard and the walls are painted primarily in black.  I am a big fan of using dark paint colors so I really love the look of this apartment.  There are such beautiful textures used throughout that makes the space feel warm and inviting.

Modern Bungalow / Master Bedroom

Today I am sharing photos from our master bedroom–the final home tour post from last month’s Lonny  feature!  When we were deciding on paint I knew I wanted to go bold and paint the entire room a dark gray.  After painting what seemed like 100 test swatches I chose BM Temptation Gray.  We have a ton of natural light in the space so painting the walls a dark color works here.  It has turned out to be one of my favorite rooms in the house, the perfect spot to relax after a long day at work.  Sources:  Bed:  vintage / Rose Bowl Flea Market in LA–reupholstered with fabric from Hickory Chair Co, Wallpaper Panels / Calico Wallpaper, Lamps / One Kings Lane, Pillows / Custom Stone Textile + lumbar is also custom by Carley Khan Textiles, Mint Jewelry Hand / Vintage

Interiors By Stone Textile / Modern Bungalow: Lower Level No.1

Elizabeth Mollen_Living Room 2
Last week our Austin home was featured in the October issue of Lonny Magazine.  Over the next few weeks I am going to go room by room to share some of my favorite images from the shoot as well as the photos we took prior.  When we moved in there was an empty space in the living room area where our current media built in is now.  You can see the before photo below…Yes, the whole lower level was painted lime green when we bought the house.  What a different paint makes right?  I worked with a very talented builder to create this custom book shelve and TV unit.  I wanted it to be unique so each shelve is a different size.  The black and white multi-layered cabinets were inspired by a 1970′s credenza that I saw at a vintage shop years ago and also serve as the perfect cable box/speaker/wire storage. I like when all of that is hidden.  I also had to find something for the round wall (which is the outer wall of our staircase).  I chose a beautiful vintage macramé wall hanging that I purchased on Chairish.   Here are a few more detailed shots…

AFTER:  This after shot was taken before we switched out our dining room art.  I am always changing things around and as much as I love a good gallery wall I felt like a strong piece of artwork would work better for our dining room.

Love This Hotel / The Joule Dallas

photo 1.PNG

I have fallen in love with a hotel.  I have seen photos of The Joule hotel in Dallas before but the photos really do not do this space justice.  I decided to stay here for a little buying trip this week and wanted to share some (iPhone) photos of the lobby.  More on my vintage furniture finds later.  The lobby is divided into little beautifully decorated nooks.  The one pictured above it my favorite.

Love This House…

I have had a crush on this Chicago home designed by Alexis Bednyak for months.  Yesterday, by chance, we met through a friend of mine.  Such a small world!  Her master bedroom is a favorite, I love how she chose black molding to play off the bright white walls.  Very Stone Textile…

Love This House…

I apologize for the blog hiatus!  I have been so busy with my interior projects that the blog has definitely fallen behind. I am back today with a bold  home tour that I recently saw on Domaine.  This Palm Springs vacation home belongs to a Los Angeles based fashion designer and is filled to the brim with amazing mid-century collectables + pop art.  I think may favorite room is the kitchen/dining room above….what is yours?

Love This House…

I have started a new design project called “Greenflint” .   These clients love Mid Century design so I have been doing a lot of MCM research for their 4 bedroom ranch style home.  I came across this amazing home in France that screams Mid Century, great inspiration.  Follow along on instagram to see this project come together (#Greenflint)

Love This House / Designer Sarah Lavoine at home in Paris

What a cool house.  When I first saw this Parisian home featured on The Window, I needed to see more.  I love what interior design Sarah Lavoine has done with her personal space.  There are so many great design elements going on here…my favorites: the geometric mirrors used throughout the space, the white walls vs. dark accent walls, + the modern lighting.  What about you?

Sarah recently launched a line of home products.  Pieces from her porcelain collection below:

Love This House…

I had to share this gorgeous art filled home in Miami with you.  All of the lighting choices are pretty amazing, especially in the kitchen image above.  I love the mix of Tom Dixon pendants and how they stepped outside of the box and used a bunch of them.  What a statement!  See more below and the full house tour on
