Lonny-Living-Room_blog

I am so thrilled to finally share photos of our Austin home with you!   If you have been following the #modernbungalow process on Instagram,  you would know that we did a little photo shoot a few months ago.  It was such fun experience to see everything come together and work with such talented stylists, writers, and photographers.   I will do a few more detailed posts (with sources) next week but, for now please take a look at the October Issue of Lonny Magazine which came out yesterday.  It was such a pleasure working with the Lonny team–thank you for this amazing opportunity!

DIFFA: Picnic By Design / Table Pictures…

Diffa_cover

Professional photos are always best….I love how photographer Jake Holt captured our DIFFA Picnic table.  Last Thursday’s event was a big success and I am so glad I will have these photos to remember the evening with.  The theme of my table was “modern garden” .  RoseHip Flora helped turn my vision into a reality with the lucite floral boxes.  They made such a statement.  Layers of florals were created using different materials…fabric, paper, actual flowers.  Brass + metallic accents were splahed throughout our modern garden.  It was such an honor to participate in this event!  See more table photos here.

I love tis shot of the floral color block table cloth we had made.

The place settings were composed of vintage + modern accessories.  Dinnerware / vintage, Napkins / Stone Textile, Glassware / vintage, Placemats / custom.

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with the team at Camille Styles on a fun Entertaining With feature.  I invited some friends over for a little mexican fiesta complete with smoky lentil tacos, lemoncello cupcakes, + of course margaritas (I made a special mock tail for myself!)  Here are a few of my favorite shots from the party.  Big thank you to the Camille Styles team for stopping by!

How cool is this fashion office?  We were thrilled to see some of our pillows used in this fabulous office makeover.  I loved how they styled our Black Diamond Print Pillow on the tufted sofa above.  Mixing smaller prints with larger florals always works really well.   Make sure to take a look at all of the before + after photos on Domaine Home.

Fashion + Furniture / The Oscars

photo 1.PNG

I had to share Domaine’s recent Oscar fashion feature for a many reasons.  One, they pretty much picked four of my favorite dresses from past red carpets.  Cate Blanchett in her lavender beaded Givenchy gown from a few years ago is an all time favorite.   Two, as a designer always inspired by current and vintage fashion trends I love how they went from red carpet to room (fashion for the home)  Three, our B+W Bamboo Stripe Throw Blanket was featured  (thank you Domaine!)  I loved Julia Roberts in classic Black and White from over a decade ago–colors and silhouette which will always be in style.  Looking forward to seeing what the red carpet has in store for us tonight…Happy Oscars!

Austin Modern / A tabletop collaboration

Austin Modern_7

I am excited to finally share photos from the “Austin Modern” table top shoot we worked on a few months ago.  To make things even more exciting, we are thrilled that RUE Magazine is also sharing photos + recipes on their blog RUE Daily today!  Collaborating with other designers + photographers in Austin is always fun.  This time around, I thought it would be a nice change of pace to focus on tabletop + food since Austin is known for it’s fantastic array of new restaurants + bars.  It was such a pleasure working with the very talented photographer, Kate LeSueur, she captured everything perfectly.  I am hungry writing this post as her food shots are so incredible. Keith Kreeger was also involved and loaned us his handmade  porcelain dinnerware for this shoot.  I adore his simple and modern approach to design and love how his pieces work with the Stone Textile tabletop linens.   Nova on Rainey provided us with food + drink.  Make sure to check this place out next time you are visiting Austin, the menu is always changing and the interior design is pretty cool (my favorite is the bar lighting, see below)  For recipes and more images head over to RUE Daily…
