Art Love / Andrea Pramuk

I was looking for art for a client last week and came across One Kings Lane’s new artist sale.  Andrea Pramuk’s ink prints were a favorite.  We even purchased the piece above and the piece below for the guest bedroom project.  They will look beautiful against the gray wall and over the blue velvet sofa.  Here are a few of my favorites…

Art Love / Gray Malin Photography

From Prada Marfa to A La Montagne….There has been a lot of Gray Malin talk on the blog over the past few weeks.  We are currently taking a little ski vacation in Park City and thought it would only be fitting to share some of my favorite Gray Malin ski photos today.

I would love to get a large scale version of this one for my husband’s office.

He even partnered up with Black Crow Studios on a wallpaper line!  How fun are these?

Art Love / Donald Judd + A Quiz

On our trip to Marfa we visited the Chinati Foundationa modern museum that houses the works of artist, Donald Judd.  Judd is known for his minimalist sculptures and prints.  Here are a few that I love.  Make sure to scroll down below for a funny story about the last piece featured….

When I was working on this post, the Donald Judd piece above kept reminding me of the infamous IKEA Lack Shelves (I even have them in my house!)  My husband looked over and asked why I was blogging about our IKEA shelves….I laughed and was glad we were on the same page here.  It got me thinking.  I wonder if Donald Judd’s piece was the inspiration behind the LACK series?   I did some reaserch and found this interesting quiz called: “Donald Judd or Cheap Furniture?”  It is a ten question quiz and takes less then 5 minutes.  Let me know how you did in the comments….I got a 92%, not bad!

Art Love / Jaydan Moore

Jaydan Moore

A close friend in the art world passed along these beautiful metal sculpters along the other day.  The artist deconstructs vintage slier trays and decorative objects and welds them back together to create very unique pieces.  I love how the little pieces form such odd shapes.  Here are a few favorites…

Art Love / Jordan Carlyle

When shopping for art I tend to fall for more abstract pieces like the one above by Jordan Carlyle.  The New York based artist, who has actually been designing art for Crate and Barrel and CB2 for years, also has a gorgeous furniture and accessories line (more on that tomorrow…)  His bold and geometric designs really makes a statement and can add a lot to a modern space.  Here are a few pieces I am loving…

Art Post No. 16 / 5 x 7

Emily is back with another art post…

This April AMOA-Arthouse in Austin gears up for their smart + fun annual fundraiser titled, 5 x 7. Guests can attend the Splurge event to kick-off the exhibition where they have a “first look” and chance to make one (or many) of the original works of art, donated by artists, their own. While the selection won’t be as substantial following Splurge, 5 x 7 inch works of art are available for purchase throughout the duration of the exhibition.

See tastes of the works available (above and below), and the way they’re often installed…
