Mr. Max

On 1.21.15 we welcomed our son Maxwell Reid into the world.  It has been a crazy few weeks adjusting to our new rolls as parents.  Thank you for all of the well wishes and sweet comments.  We are so in love with this little guy.   I am working on some (decor related) “new mom” posts that will go up in the next few weeks so stay tuned!

Around The Studio…

It’s finally January!  It seems like ages ago when I made the baby announcement and now he can really arrive any day.  I am trying to keep really busy and get into new mom mode.  I am lucky to have my new assistant, Audrey, help me with this transition.   She will be taking over for the time being and handling all of our online orders +  special orders.   She will also be guest blogging on Stone Textile At Home from time to time and  I will pop in occasionally as well.  I will be taking Austin based interior clients starting in May and  Edesign clients starting in April.  Please contact me if you have a new project you would like to discuss and in the meantime Audrey can answer all of your product related questions! (  I will still be posting on Instagram so you can follow my new adventures in baby land (@stonetextile)  Have a great weekend!  Xx Elizabeth

Some News + A very special project…

I have some very exciting news to share with you today. My husband and I are having our first baby–due in January!  We are really looking forward to growing our family and meeting this little man in a few short months.   Yes — it is a boy!  I hope that explains the lack of blog posts over the last few weeks.  I apologize for the absence,  I have had every pregnancy symptom in the book and have been beyond busy with running the line + my design projects.   It has been quite the Summer!  Now that I am feeling like myself again, I hope to get things back to normal around here.  Above is a little sneak peek at what I am thinking about for the nursery (Obviously black + white are involved)  Stay tuned for more nursery details here and on Instagram…

Design Detail / Heavy Metal

Heavy Metal_1

I kind of fell in love with this photo yesterday.  How great are the vintage metal file cabinets in this office?  It got me thinking about metal accents.  If done right, they can really be a bold statement.  Here are a few other offices or design studios that have also incorporated metal (done right!)  Above:  Alicia Lund from Chetah Is The New Black found the perfect vintage cabinets for her home studio–love how they look against her bright white floor and walls.

Heavy Metal_2

What an amazing looking parsons desk (this is no West Elm Parsons Desk that is for sure!)  Again, chrome paired with bright white–a look that always works I think.

Heavy Metal_3

The vintage piece above reminds me of  my old gym lockers from Jr. High School.  What a great piece for a design studio, makes filing look cool.

Heavy Metal_4

I am thinking these steps are not functional and more for show.  I love this minimalist look. Fuchsia + chrome are always a nice match….

Interiors By Stone Textile / Chicago Project No.2

Sitting Room

Today I am sharing photos from a recent interior project in Chicago.  The client only had four weeks before her move in so we had to move fast and only use things that were in stock.  So custom furniture + accessories were not going to work for this project.  A majority of the pieces were actually found at Room + Board, Crate + Barrel, West Elm, + Vintage stores and to avoid the “catalog look” I incorporated accessories from textile designers Rebecca Atwood + Donna Wilson.  The pair of blue velvet chairs above were the first pieces purchased for this space and served as inspiration for the rest of the design.  I really like how blue tones mix with metallic tones so we incorporated a lot of brass + copper.  Here are some of my favorite images from the shoot.  If you have source questions please email us at

Interiors By Stone Textile / From Above

EM_Chicago Coffee Table

We have done a lot of interior shoots over the past few weeks and while editing I noticed a pattern.  There is always a shot from above.  I just love how these shots look.  After months of collecting pieces for a space,  seeing them come together from above is unique.  Above is a shot from the Chicago project.

Holiday Gift

It’s holiday season and we are wrapping a lot of Stone Textile gifts around here….check out our new tabletop + gift section for ideas!

Speaking of the studio….this Craigslist find will now be our new bookshelf!   I have been looking for a brass etagere like this for a while…stay tuned for photos.

Around The Studio: Vintage chairs all done up…

Stone-Textile_Vintage-ChairI literally  found these crazy chairs on the side of the road a few weeks ago and knew that once they were re-painted and re-upholstered they would be perfect for our new studio.  It was a pull over and purchase in 5 minutes situation (they were $30 each)  I am obsessed with the shape.  Got them back yesterday and love how they turned out.  We used an embroidered heavy cotton that I found in New York a few years ago.  Happy to see it finally being put to use!  Take a look at the before + after images below…Have a wonderful weekend!

Around The (New) Studio….

Here is what is happening around our NEW design studio this week….

B+W Collection_stone textile

We are getting samples back from our new B+W Collection that launches this Fall.  The B+W Arrow Pillow and samples from our new makeup bag line are featured above…

Geo Coffee Table_Stone Textile

Our little DYI vintage coffee table is complete!  We purchased a 1/2 think piece of black acrylic and set it on top of the amazing geometric table bases.  It is really a perfect piece for the space.  The Stone Textile mascot (Toby the dog) also loves it…

Deco Leg Bench_Stone Textile

Furniture design has always been something we have wanted to venture into.   The new “Deco Leg” bench that we had custom made for a client is pictured above.  We worked with a local woodworker who really made our design come to life.  Check out their other projects here.  This bench will be painted black and upholstered with the tweed fabric, seen on our Three Part Pillow here….stay tuned!

Around The Studio…

I will admit that this week has been a difficult one.  Coming back to work after being away for so long is tough!  The show must go on so here is a look at what we have been up to this week…

PeachFinalized colors for a new project I am working on. It’s a special one that I will go into more detail on soon!  Loving my usual black, white, and gray mixed with a little peach and gold for color.

45tenWe are so excited to announce that Stone Textile pillows will now be sold at Forty Five Ten in Dallas!  If you are in Dallas make sure to stop in!  Love the set up above…

shelvesThe image above is from the nursery project I am working on in Chicago.  I love how these West Elm shelves turned out against the lavender/gray wall color.  Looking forward to sharing the whole project with you soon…

Gray DiamondAnother sneak peek from my interior designer friend’s new house.  She used our Gray Diamond Print Fabric for curtains in her sitting room.  It is always so fun seeing how people use our products.

Check back tomorrow for a little Father’s Day gift guide and have a great weekend! xx Elizabeth

Around The Studio….

Here is a look at what we are working on this week…

My love for color blocking may be happening in a kitchen project I am working on….details soon.

signature print
An Austin based designer used our Signature Print Fabric for a custom headboard and custom curtains.  Pretty amazing right?  We love how they look with the bedding from Biscuit Home.

Spent hours deciding on sofa fabric….(typical).  Ended up going with the textured black on top (it is beyond soft).

We are leaving for our two week vacation to Asia on Saturday (a little work + a little play) Usually I am a last minute kind of packer but, I have started early this time….cannot wait to be there and let the adventure begin!
