One Room Challenge / Week No. 4

Welcome to week No. 4.  Wow, this whole ORC thing is really flying by!  We are getting down to the wire here.  Take a look at what we have accomplished so far (week No.1, week No. 2, Week No. 3)  I am happy to report that we have made a lot of progress this week.  A lot of furniture has been delivered and a lot of DIY projects have been completed.  Above:  The Silhouette Bed by CB2 is pretty amazing in person.  I love how it looks with our wallpaper by Lindsay Cowels.

The vintage nightstands we purchased at Scout Design Studio, in Dallas, came back from being professionally lacquered.  The pop of color is just what this room needed.  They are so shiny and pretty.  I could live in a room full of lacquered pieces.  I may have a lacquer problem….

Since I am pregnant, I am trying to stay clear of toxic fumes.  That has been interesting when you design + remodel houses for a living.  Luckily my assistant is an A+ DIY-er.  She tackled the white lamp shades this week.  They look so much better in black.  Wait until you see them against the wallpaper.

She also spray-painted the vintage diamond shaped mirror matte black.  It will make such a statement on the wall.

A bunch of accessories have also arrived. We picked out this abstract black + white duvet coverlet from ORC sponsor, Wayfair
I love mixing bold prints so this was a fun choice for the end of the bed against the wallpaper.  We also received some beautiful modern art from Minted’s Art Marketplace.  Looking forward to hanging both pieces on the walls.  Thank you to Wayfair
for sponsoring!

This week we will be working on finalizing our bedding + pillow selections for the bed, hanging curtains, installing light fixtures, hanging art, upholstering the vintage bench, doing the armoire DIY, and setting up the space for our little week 6 photo shoot.

The Stone Textile Tie Dye Patchwork Pillow is a front runner for the bed andWayfair also sent two of these amazing black leather shag rugs for the space.  They look great at the foot of each side of the bed.

Make sure to check out what everyone else has accomplished this week!  You can also follow along on Instagram using #oneroomchallenge
